Swing a Club :Bring your golf clubs and play one of the golf courses in Timmins or venture to one of the golf courses in any of the surrounding communities. Just do not forget your favourite putter. 

Take a Walk-a-bout : Timmins enjoys an extensive inter-connecting trail system ideal for talking long walks sightseeing the community, the waterfront and the many local parks.

Lessons in History : The region enjoys many museums depicting the history of the mining and forestry industries. Learn more about the lives of the earliest pioneers, miners, lumberjacks and others.

Attractions : The region enjoys a varied selection of attractions ranging from underground mining tours to a museum depicting the life of Timmin's very own country music star Shania Twain. 

Pack a Picnic : Gather up the family, friends and enjoy some quality time outdoors enjoying a picnic with views. There are day use picnic sites on trails and in parks locally and throughout the surrounding communities. 

Go Hiking : Bring your good hiking boots or sneakers and spend the day hiking trails in one of the nearby provincial parks. Make sure to bring a day pack, some snacks, water, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses.

Birding : Birding is made easy in the region with so many lakes, rivers & conservation areas to visit. Porcupine Lake, Pearl Lake, Kettle Lakes and the Mountjoy & Mattagami Rivers are just a few of the birding waterways in the region.

Water Sports : Porcupine Lake and Mattagami River are just a few of the waterways ideal for canoeing, boating, water skiing, kayaking and more. Bring your water toys with you and explore the lakes & rivers of the region.

Discover the Arts : Discover local art at any of the regional art galleries and artists studios. 

Road Trip :Pack up the family and visit with the surrounding communities in the region. Along the way stop in at any of the parks and/or day use picnic parks for some quality nature time.

Off Roading : The region around Timmins is populated with many kilometres of backcountry roads created by the forestry and mining industries which are ideal for dirt biking and ATVs.

Go Cross Country : Slap on the xc skies and enjoy the over 30+ kilometres of xc ski trails in the Timmins area. The Porcupine area maintains 9 such trails for your enjoyment. 

Sledding :There are about 440+ kilometres trails dedicated to snowmobiling in the Timmins region. The trail network connects to a larger network of sledding trails exploring Northern Ontario.

Ski North : Not far from town is a local ski hill (Kamiskotia Snow Resort) which is popular for downhill skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing. Lodge on site serving hot drinks
