Merritt BC Bass Coast Music Festival 2023

Bass Coast Music Festival takes place July 7-10, in Merritt BC. Celebrating it's 15th year, Bass Coast Festival is held on the traditional, ancestral unceded territory of the Nlaka'pamuz & Syilx people. Bass Coast attracts people from all over the world to take in the many innovative international talent as well being a springboard for upcoming Canadian artists. Merritt BC Bass Coast music genres include, techno, jungle, drum, funk, hip hop and more.

Merritt BC Bass Coast Music Festival's theme this year is Avant Garden "Your Time To Bloom." Bass Coast encourages everyone to go a bit wild. expressing individuality through creative fashion outfits. Expressing yourself with fashion and being true to yourself. Although no glitter or feather boas allowed, not good for the environment or the animals.

This a 19+ event, and must have valid government issued photo ID. Bass Coast provides licensed  bars in various locations. First Aid tent behind the main stage, and at every campground. Merritt BC Bass Coast Festival offers mind and body workshops. Yoga & meditation, movement classes, and The Brain workshops. How about taking part in learning the art burlesque. Join Kanaka Bar's Band BioBlitz June 10th

Kanaka Bar Band along with B.C Nature club Lillooet Naturalist Society ant the Nicola Naturalist Society all together will catalogue as many species possible. Come and join a day of community science led BioBlitz hosted by the Kanaka Bar Band on  proposed Indigenous Protected Area. Coming together we will catalogue as many species as possible. If you are planning to attend Kanaka Bar's BioBlitz Indigenous Protected & Conserved Area Saturday June 10th. Please make sure to RSVP by Monday June 5th, to make sure they have dinner for all attendees.

Make sure to wear appropriate clothing, pack a lunch and water, hat and camera or phone. If interested in early morning birding at 9:30am. Otherwise, we will gather at 10am - 11am for information session our Community Centre. Dinner from 5pm - 7pm and count up. Followed by moths, owls and bat's from 8pm - 12am. Kanaka Bar Band Community Centre is the first building on Siwash Road.

Annual Back Country Horsemen Event Merritt BC

"Saddle Up" Annual rendezvous Back Country Horsemen coming to Merritt BC. This very popular event for BCHBC members and friends gather from all over the province of British Columbia. "Roots & Boots," being this years theme, focusing on riding, social gatherings, music, and tons of education. For those interested in trail riding out in the back country, Back Country Horsemen rendezvous here in Merritt BC is the perfect event for you. Educational and many participation events, hands on workshops, saddle fitting, entertainment and guided trail rides. Merritt BC Bowling Centre Tuesday Night's Special 

Merritt BC Bowling Centre every Tuesday starting at 6pm hosts a fun filled night of family fun. "Bowling Night" special costs $3 a game, plus shoe rental, snacks, refreshments and is fully licensed. Also if wanting to amp your game or have a friendly night of competition, you can add poker or grand prix to your bowling games. Cirque LuzDalia welcomes everyone to come and experience one of a kind cirque show like you have never seen before. Featuring acrobats, aerialists, daredevils and a lot more. If you go early kids can enjoy the fun zone, featuring face painting, circus toys with treats and ten minutes before the main event kids can join in the ring for the all access pre-show.  

Nicola Valley BC Annual Little Britches Rodeo 

Come out and support our future cowgirls & cowboys June 3 - 4 at the Nicola Valley Rodeo Grounds in Merritt BC. Cowgirls and cowboys of the future to develop their skills while competing against others in their age group. Little Britches Rodeo is a family oriented event for young competitors to develop essential life long skills such as sportsmanship, animal caring, respect, responsibilities and learning to deal with all the aspects when competing. Dust off your boots & cowboy hat and wrangle down to Nicola Valley Rodeo Grounds this weekend in Merritt BC Canada. 

Merritt BC Cutting Horse Show

Merritt BC Cutting Horse Show at the Nicola Valley Rodeo grounds May 12 - 14, 2023. Dating back to the 1800's, ranchers used the most skilled horses to herd their cow's. A prized cutting horse is one that shows interest in cow's and has the ability to quickly react with speed and gauge a cow's movement. In the past cattle ranchers would have their livestock grazing on the open land, mingling with other ranch owned animals. When it came to round-up time, cowhands used cutting horses to separate, control, and herd the cow's home. 

Nicola Valley BC Cutting Horse Show

 Historically ranching is rooted in the Nicola Valley BC. No surprise that the Nicola Valley Rodeo association is bringing this very popular sport to Merritt BC. Come out and watch with amazement the horse's ability, skills, athleticism when handling cattle. Annual Student Powwow "Water is Life!"

Nicola Valley BC Annual SD#58 Student Powwow. "Water Is Life" Student Powwow is an annual event the First Nations Education department hosts throughout the school district #58 in the Nicola Valley BC. This years host is Merritt Central School. Truly a day  for learning, sharing and experiencing our beautiful Aboriginal culture. Concessions and craft vendors will be on site. May 24 - 9:30am - 2:30pm at the Lower Nicola Indian Band Arbor. 

Merritt BC Super Roller Disco dance event at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena May 27. Doors open at 8pm and goes on till 11pm. A family night of disco dancing on roller skates with DJ Miss Demeanour. Everyone is welcome to come and disco dance on wheels in Merritt BC. Featuring a fog machine, strobe lights, and boogie down tunes. Dress up like your living in the 80's, theme night "80's Club Night." Tickets can be purchased at the door, and you can rent skates in all sizes. The Super Roller Disco is going to be a blast here in Merritt BC.
